How to use LED Monitor as a TV
How to use LED Monitor as a TV ? was Questioned by Mozitech Viewer.Today,I’m gonna clear it.We know already TV’s are playing a major role in this world. Many people are so excited to watch TV Shows in TVs.Here LED TV’s have come down in price.but it’s not enough. If you have a cable box, than your TV tuner is in that BOX.not in TV.So what is the use of buying a TV with a Tuner that which you will never ever use it.You can also save upto $200 by doing below things.
You should have all necessary Things
We gonna start now,Make sure that your satellite provider or cable which offers a cable box with DVI or HDMI output. You should also need Speakers. It could be of any kind,But it should accept RCA audio cables.I used a small sony stereo with a remote. If you picked up a cable box with an HDMI output and you will also need an DVI and HDMI cable.
You should choose a Display
You have to choose Good and Best Display. There are some requirements for the monitor.First it SHOULD be HDCP(High Definition Content Protection) compliant and It must have a HDMI and DVI input. The Monitor should be a Wide screened.Make sure it must display atleast 720p.I used a Sony Monitor that which it can display upto 720p but I got it at lower price.Monitors with a picture most high end HDTV’s that you have to use.
You have to set it all up
The exact cable setup that which will be different for everyone.Above Diagram indicates the basic idea.If you don’t see a picture or anything on your display do not panic. It means your cable box is probably trying to display a resolution that which your Monitor can’t display it.Find out that how to enter HD setup mode or you change the maximum resolution. After finding the instructions.you have to follow them to change the maximum resolution to the resolution of the Monitor(it could be 720p).If your cable box Indicates that your monitor is not HDCP compliant whether you bought wrong kind of monitor.
Other Things to Do
You have to mount your Monitor. It is easy to setup and install. You can also connect your Computer to the monitor for an extra usage.I also choose to connect the power of my Monitor to cable box, so I could turn it off and on by turning my cable box via remote. This which may not be a feature on all cable boxes. My Monitor also which happens to return to its last state when it’s plugged in.Just leave the Monitor on and unplug it.If it turns back on when you plug it in,then this technique will work.
Conclusion and Downsides
There are only two downsides.First one,you are limited to the consoles that can you attach. But a cable box or a switch with inputs will fix it.So far,the combination of my cable box and computer that have to allowed me to watch any new things on my display.
Second one,You cannot turn the TV on or off with a remote unless a cable box features a built in plug or buy a remote control surge protector.on Remote everything else, channel, volume, etc that which controls cable box.
