Samsung is moving to new “Stretchable” displays after Edge panels.
TerseInfo: Samsung has been setting new boundaries to its competitors in terms of new innovations and has been spending a huge amounts of investments in the R&D department as they came up with new display panels which can be stretched.
Samsung is the company which created its brand value on the basis of hardware and has been competing with Apple in terms of popularity among the customers.
Samsung launched Edge panels with Galaxy S6 and it brought a drastic change in how we see Samsung as a brand, They are the ones who brought a Full HD display through S8.
What are Samsung’s Stretchable Display Panels?
A Screen which can stretch like a rubber band or a trampoline. Samsung showed this display technology at Display week and they have shown a 9.1 inch stretchable OLED display, which is just a prototype for now but will be making an entry in the coming future.
Samsung said that this display can be flexed in two directions where the existing OLED panels can be bendable, foldable and rollable in just one direction.

When we press on the screen, it’ll depress and when left it will bounce back to normal form. It can be stretched up or down and when released it comes back to normal flat shape with its elasticity feature. It can also be rolled and bent, when released it bounce back to its original shape.
The company said it figured the technology could be used for wearable, internet of things devices, and automotive applications. Samsung even described how it could be used as a face for a robot. When it comes to displays, Samsung certainly stands out. Its flexible displays are now found in its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus phones, which is why the the screen can curve around the sides of the phones.
It’s a good thing to see that companies are coming with new innovations and setting a target for other companies and Samsung has done it several times till date and it also improved a lot from its software department which means the future of Samsung Mobiles going to be ecstatic to its customers.
